am NOT talking about! This article isn't going to give you any new insights on either of the clubs. Sorry for tricking you. But I didn't lie. Technically. All right, here is the answer

On 7th August 1905, Indians formally proclaimed the ‘Swadeshi Movement’ in a meeting held at Calcutta town hall. The then leaders  Anandmohan Bose & Surendranath Banerjea argued in front of huge mass gatherings urging the boycott of consumption of 'Manchester Cloth' & 'Liverpool Salt' along with investing in Swadeshi institutions. Yes, it's TRUE! No small prints or marketing gimmicks here. These two Firangee lands were famous even then, although, as we can see for different reasons.

Now, a 108 years later, Raghuram G. Rajan, the next Governer of RBI recently said that he feels to counter its present problems, "...India must improve supply, which means shifting from consumption to investment..." (Source: The Hindu, 7th August 2013)

Well it seems it has been 108 years that our leaders have been arguing with us over judicious use of foreign products and the situation, poised like a photograph of Milkha Singh & Pan Singh Tomar just about to run, hasn't changed quite as it should have! Even if it changed, we are now back to square one! And as the laws of Physics say, Displacement = 0.

Anyway, the whole point of making you come to this page (By trickery or otherwise) is that ke bhaiyya sabse bada rupaiyya, so kindly invest it in Swadeshi industries instead of Firangee luxuries.

Until next time! :)
